Understanding Your Car's Air Intake System

!±8± Understanding Your Car's Air Intake System

The air intake system is a car part that needs full attention all the time.

It is carefully built and tuned for an automobile to experience the maximum efficiency and power. It is the part of the internal combustion engine that is a powerful air pump. Its function is to increase the velocity of the air until such time that it travels in to the combustion chamber. This is done at the same time while minimizing the turbulence and restriction of flow. The intake works by testing the flow of air on a flow bench in the port design stage.

To tremendously improve the car's performance, extensive tweaking of the intake system is found on cars with turbochargers or superchargers that provide a pressurized intake system.

Consumers nowadays mostly prefer modern cars. And these cars also require a modern air intake system that has 3 major parts, namely an air filter, mass flow sensor, and throttle body. In order to reduce the noise that enters the cabin, more recent cars now have silencer. This car part hinders the flow of air and creates turbulence that reduces total power. In effect, many performance fanatics often remove the silencers.

Specific lengths of air intakes are designed for the air to vibrate and be available at a specific frequency. This assists the flow of air into the combustion chamber. To minimize the restriction of flow at the cost of changing the pattern of the air intake for a small net increase in power or torque, the aftermarket industry now has larger throttle bodies and air filters.

In the case of your Daihatsu car, if you feel any damage in its air intake, the Daihatsu oxygen sensor might be in trouble. Check your owner's manual and know how to solve.

As a car owner, you need to know other things about your air intake system. One of which is the process of how the air and the fuel that needs to burn get into the cylinders.

In a carburetor equipped engine, the air comes into the space for air filter. Air passes through the air filter and then into the carburetor where the fuel is blended with it. Through the intake manifold, it passes. And then it is drawn into the cylinders.

The Air Temperature Sensor is the most advanced part of the air intake system. This prevents carburetor icing that might cause your vehicle to stall and die out. It also facilitates vaporization of the fuel into the air stream. Moreover, it is used to gauge the temperature of air. It also allows cool air in through the air horn or heated air piped in from around an exhaust manifold. And this is done through opening and closing a flap.

However, you cannot accurately measure the incoming air for the appropriate fuel mixture. Nonetheless, for an idle car, you can use emission analyzer. Then, adjust the fuel mixture. Remember that you cannot attain the right fuel mixture at higher speeds.

While some car manufacturers do not recommend carburetor adjustments, some manufacturers recommend carburetor adjustments on a dynamometer with the engine under load.

Vehicles using fuel injection, air is drawn in through the air intake. It is a long plastic tube that transcends up to the space for the air filter. The intake tube is long because it must make the air move in a fairly steady, coherent stream. Through the air filter and then followed by the air flow meter, the air passes.

The vane type and the hot wire type are the two types of AFMs. The first one contains a flap that is forced by the incoming air. More flaps are forced back when there is more amount of air that is coming in. A potentiometer that is attached to the flap sends a signal of voltage to the Power train Control Module (PCM). Behind the main vane is a second vane. This fits into a closed camber which suppresses the movement of the vane. In effect, a more accurate measurement is given. An Air Temperature Sensor, which functions exactly as it does in the carbureted engine, is also built into the vane AFM.

On the other hand, the hot wire AFM utilizes a series of wires strung in the air stream. The wire resistance at normal operating temperature is held constant; it will allow a set voltage through it. The air cools as it passes through the hot wire. And during this process, the wire resistance diminishes. As a result, it allows passing through more voltage. The signal of the voltage then goes to the main EFI computer. There, it allows the fuel mixture to be adjusted. And then, from the AFM, it goes to the throttle chamber.

The air that flows into the engine is controlled by the chamber. The car comes in an idle mode when the throttle chamber is closed. A small bypass chamber allows a small amount of air to bypass the throttle plate and proceed into the engine.

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and the Cold Start Valve are among the other essential parts of the air intake system.

And so this is how the air intake system works and how air enters the engine. Having knowledge on this will lessen your ignorance when it comes to intake matters. A frequent owner's manual browsing will also help a lot.

Turbo Charge Your BMW

!±8± Turbo Charge Your BMW

Obtaining the most out of your engine has been the goal for many people over the years. There are several types of engines: normal aspirated engines and engines that make use of turbo and compressors to obtain more power from the same cylindrical capacity.

Modern car engines are more efficient and powerful than the engines produced twenty years ago, but there is still place for improvement. For example, if you have a normal aspirated car, you can add a turbo-compressor to increase the amount of horse power the engine develops. But before you rush out to the first car parts and buy a turbo charger for your car, there are things to consider.

The most important thing you must take into consideration when thinking of adding a turbo to your car is to think is the engine's parts will be able to sustain the extra power from the turbo.

Adding a turbo requires quite a few engine modifications, and the outcome will be more power from your initial power, but will also bring higher temperatures inside the engine and the very high revs the turbine will function.

The German BMW's are already known for their superior handling, reliability and power, but you squeeze a few more horsepower from your BMW engine by adding a turbo charger.

Compared to other methods of obtaining more power from your engine, superchargers offer less costly and an easier to install kit (these kits make 6-8 lbs of boost and the average home mechanic can safely install a quality application in 6 hours). Superchargers will typically make an impressive horse power increase, but many suppliers do not make a tremendous amount of low RPM torque, so if you only drive your car to work across the city, a turbo will not bring you significant advantages.

There are many components that a turbo charging set contains, as it is made up of thing like the intercooler, the bypass valve, the blow off valve, a waste gate, exhaust manifold, larger injectors and many more.

The typical home mechanic will probably be unable to complete this installation and that is why you should address a large car repair or tuning shop to complete the operation. Even for an experienced mechanic, mounting a turbo kit will take several days of work.

However, due to the significant increase in power a turbo kit brings your car, the wait is worth it. But when considering turboing your BMW, you should also consider improving your car's brakes, as a 500 horse power BMW will require a lot of braking force to bring it to a stop from the astonishing speeds it can achieve. So the braking system should also be improves when mounting the kit (elements such as larger diameter rotors, multi piston calipers, sport brake pads, stainless steel brake lines and performance brake fluid should be on your shopping list).

You should also pay special attention to the BMW's drive train when thinking of turboing your BMW. The initial car was developed to handle only a certain amount of power and any increase in this amount of power can affect your car's stability and ability in taking corners if you not strengthen up essential parts in the BMW's drive train (such as the clutch).

Also the car's cooling system should be upgraded as well when turboing your BMW, as power generates heat and the initial radiator had been developed to eliminate just a certain amount of engine heat.

So you may think that adding a turbo kit to your BMW is an easy operations, but the truth is that if you want to have a professional operation done, there are other elements beside the engine itself that have to be modified.

WHAT IS LATENT DEMAND AND THE P.I.E.?

The concept of latent demand is rather subtle. The term latent typically refers to something that is dormant, not observable, or not yet realized. Demand is the notion of an economic quantity that a target population or market requires under different assumptions of price, quality, and distribution, among other factors. Latent demand, therefore, is commonly defined by economists as the industry earnings of a market when that market becomes accessible and attractive to serve by competing firms. It is a measure, therefore, of potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) or total revenues (not profit) if a market is served in an efficient manner. It is typically expressed as the total revenues potentially extracted by firms. The “market” is defined at a given level in the value chain. There can be latent demand at the retail level, at the wholesale level, the manufacturing level, and the raw materials level (the P.I.E. of higher levels of the value chain being always smaller than the P.I.E. of levels at lower levels of the same value chain, assuming all levels maintain minimum profitability).

The latent demand for superchargers and turbochargers for internal combustion engines excluding aircraft and gasoline automotive engines and gas turbines is not actual or historic sales. Nor is latent demand future sales. In fact, latent demand can be lower either lower or higher than actual sales if a market is inefficient (i.e., not representative of relatively competitive levels). Inefficiencies arise from a number of factors, including the lack of international openness, cultural barriers to consumption, regulations, and cartel-like behavior on the part of firms. In general, however, latent demand is typically larger than actual sales in a country market.

For reasons discussed later, this report does not consider the notion of “unit quantities”, only total latent revenues (i.e., a calculation of pri

"Speed and power are the goals of most performance tuners when working on their project cars. Many have turned to turbo kits, since turbocharging a car is the most cost effective way to dramatically increase the horsepower and torque of any engine. The turbo system works by utilizing the exhaust gases to spin a turbine, in which the compressor wheel sucks in and forces atmospheric air into the air intake of the engine. More air into the engine means more fuel will be needed. More air and more fuel equal more power.

What is Turbo Charge - Components and Applications

!±8± What is Turbo Charge - Components and Applications

A turbocharger is a compressor or turbo gas used for forced induction of an internal combustion engine. This is a form of compact air compressor in more engine power to shape increases. It has a compressor that is driven by a turbine engine exhaust gases through them, rather than be driven by the direct mechanical like many other compressors.

The basic principle is that it is designed to heat and pressure, torque, convert theis in turn used to drive the compressor. However, the compressor sucks in air and pumps it into the intake manifold at a pressure high. The end result is greater volume of air enters the cylinder at each stage of extraction.

Components: it consists of three main components. 1) The turbine (almost always a radial turbine), 2) impeller / compressor wheels are in their folded tapered seat on opposite sides of the third component, and 3) contain the case center / hubRotating Assembly (CHRA).

Applications:
Automotive applications: overeating is very common on diesel engines in cars, trucks, locomotives, boats and ships, and heavy machinery. Intended for current automotive applications are not the turbo diesel engines are increasingly rare. The compact nature of a turbocharger means that changes to the layout of the body and the engine room, not to accommodate the more powerful engine is needed. Start with the two versions ofsame engine lowers production costs and maintenance costs.

Motorcycle Applications: 1978 - Kawasaki Z1R TC is the first example of a turbochargedbike. Use a kit RayJay ATP turbo 2.3 kg (5 lbs) of thrust for the construction, takes power from c. 90 hp (67 kW) at c. 105 hp (78 kW). However, it was a bit 'faster compared to the standard model.

Applications aircraft: aircraft with turbo engines used. As a plane increases rapidly at higher altitudes the pressure of the surrounding airfalls, because at 5486 meters (18,000 feet) in mid-air pressure at sea level and the cell experiences only half the air resistance. Since the charge in the cylinder is inside the air pressure through the engine normally produces only half power at full throttle at this altitude means encouraged.

The power behind Turbo Kit

!±8± The power behind Turbo Kit

The addition of a turbocharger, your car will give you one of the largest increases in power more than any engine modification. Nitrous oxide systems can rival the combined output power, but not lasting and steady gains with a turbo system. Turbochargers can be tuned to give you a lot of lifting from 0-24 + psi increase, depending on the size of the turbine. If you have any type of forced induction system like a turbocharger, you want to ensure that theEngine is tuned to it. Below we will discuss the importance of the air-fuel ratio. I'll get this again, because premature detonation is a major cause of internal engine damage or detonation very lean air-fuel ratio caused. Turbo kit must be connected to a control device that is tuned to deliver more fuel than the factory settings, and delivered the fuel to the engine must be increased in proportion to boost pressure to be coupled. You should also add a charge-air intercooler, which isthe position of intake air temperature. Air from the exhaust gas has been incredible, heated and must be given the opportunity to cool before being re-entered into the system.

Beware of bolt on turbo kits. You are not in themselves the horse after all. You must use an intercooler and ECU for a match to build durability and performance. This bolt-on kits are perfect for experienced installers that can regulate an engine. Thethe real power behind a turbo kit will be unleased on the head with some adjustment, the conditions of time and fuel, and the intake manifold. We are here for each of these in the future, starting from the head. The heads are where has the power because they have a direct path into the combustion chamber, the magic is what happens here.

Combustion engines are "breathing" engines. That is to draw in air and fuel to produce energy. This energy is realized as power when theAir-fuel mixture is ignited in the combustion chamber. Then the waste produced by combustion is distributed. All this is usually achieved in four strokes of the piston. What works for a turbocharger to the air-fuel mixture more combustible by fitting more air into the engine room, which in turn brings more power and torque when the piston is forced downward by the resulting explosion. It accomplishes this task by condensing, or compressing, the air molecules, so thatThe engine aspirates the air is denser. Now, how is it that the real story is here.

The turbocharger is a way to force air into the engine. Hot exhaust gases drive the turbine to the compressor wheel to rotate. The turbine is connected by a shaft to a compressor. Since the turbine wheel spins faster and faster, which causes the compressor wheel also rotate quickly. The rotating compressor wheel pulls in ambient air and compresses it before pumping inEngine compartments. As you may have guessed, the compressed air from the compressor wheel, very hot emerging as a result of both compression and friction. That's where a charge air cooler (or "intercooler") comes into play is the temperature of the compressed air is reduced, so that more dense, when she enters the room. The intercooler also helps to maintain the temperature in the combustion chamber. All together, the engine, turbocharger and air cooler form what is known as "charge airsystem ". Some systems have a tip turbine fan draws air through the air cooler to further reduce the temperature of the compressed air generated by the turbocharger.

The principle behind turbocharging is fairly simple, but a turbocharger is very complex. Not only must the components within the turbocharger precisely coordinated, but the turbocharger and the engine itself must match exactly. If you can not damage, inefficiency of the engine and alsoresults. So it is important for proper installation, operation and preventive maintenance actions will follow.

When you add a turbocharger or a different charging system, an engine, you must pay the exact air / fuel ratio lean mixture can cause damage such as running detonation. Also note how much air flow heads efficiently. It 'difficult to measure or calculate, but similar to the diameter of a straw effect how much liquidcan draw, the heads are limits to the amount of air moving through the system.

Cold air intake 101 - Everything You Need to Know

!±8± Cold air intake 101 - Everything You Need to Know

The air vents in the car are an important component that must be guaranteed at all times. Its main purpose is to increase power and fuel efficiency in a car. An air pump is in the internal combustion engine, which increases the speed of the air located so that it enters the combustion chamber. This is done to reduce the amount of instability. The admission of air flow control, highlighting how the performance of air in the port yard.

The car works really improvedwith the changes made to the office of admission and turbocharger to generate high pressure. People enjoy the changes that are now put in modern cars. The date of the current version of the vacuum system consists of three components: air filter, throttle valve and flow sensor. The silencer is to add a few cars and to minimize the amount of sound coming from the cabin. It keeps the air flow to the lower amount of clay. Many performance enthusiasts to get rid of the silencerironic.

Various lengths of air vents for air to escape at a certain frequency of pulses. This helps in the movement of air in the combustion chamber. Producers now have more gas and air filter, created by the limitations of the air flow decreases.

If you own a car, it would be best to familiarize yourself with the dynamics of the air intake system. One of the main innovations is that, like the air in the cylinder and how the fuel burnsthis process works. The first air is the air filter in the engine carburetor. The air passes through the air filter and then into the carburetor where the fuel mixes with air. Then you go through the intake manifold and cylinder.

The most challenging part of the registration of air temperature sensor. It turns out that the carburetor is too cold to a point where it is cold. It 'also the evaporation of more fuel to the engine. Because this part is the cold airIn the wake of the heated air through the exhaust manifold. The door opens and closes occur so that the work process. The position sensor throttle valve and cold start are other important parts to be guaranteed as well should be.

A car is taken is essential to improve performance and keep your car from stalling. Becoming a knowledge of this area is very important. The manual can give you the information you need for your car and help you the most out of your vehicleand fuel. For the new recording, check online auto parts dealer or ask your local mechanic for tips.

Turbo vs Supercharger

!±8± Turbo vs Supercharger

Compressors and turbochargers are one of the best performance you can get to your car. The amount of energy created by these things is crazy. Depending on configuration, can sometimes double or triple the amount of energy in your car. So if you want a serious rider, the fastest times of a turbocharger or compressor is a must.

Turbo can adapt to any engine until the exhaust manifold and engine block are decompressed the right size. When you thinkSupercharging the engine, you need to decide if you want a smaller turbo, the faster is to shorten the reaction time, but a limited amount of energy, or if you have a large turbo, which once pushed a little more than football take, but if he does want to catch up in a big way. Turbo exhuast work driven by the gas and the same engine temperature. Turbo need fresh oil highly rated oils are used in the car to your needs.

The benefits of turbo is that ithave the opportunity to push more power to control through the creation or upgrading to a larger turbocharger. But there is a downside to the use of turbo. Turbo tend to increase more heat than the drive that create dense air, which means it can not be compressed to produce. Added air cooler are added, both to avoid this problem. Turbo needed to heat the solution before the race and cool for a few minutes to rest after the race.

The compressors can also be made for each engine. Sinceare two types of kits use a compressor V-belt pulley on the power to create. Compressors up to 40-50% capacity with only a basic kit. Unlike turbochargers are ready with the engine start. Compressors produce thrust at about 2000 rpm. Compressors tend to last longer than a turbo because they require less maintenance. However, there is a downside to compressor, a role that is used to create this burden on the engine power. Even if youWanting more boost with a compressor, its not as simple as a turbo, by switching the turbo kits you can purchase a completely new.

Gas Mileage Devices - What works and what does not!

!±8± Gas Mileage Devices - What works and what does not!

With gas prices raising the roof, there are some devices and modifications you can implement to increase fuel efficiency and improve your gas mileage will be. Some of the gas mileage devices on the market work great, and others are flat-out fraud. I'll give you some of the most popular offerings and tell you which ones work and which are a waste of money.

The Electric Supercharger (Fail) The electrical charge designed to put behind the idea of forcedChanges induction as turbo charger, belt or people driven by exhaust gas that is in progress. While the idea is great, in theory, I have one with an engine, the air pressure to see near as fast as the engine is already using. In other words, they tend to slow down the actual flow of air into the engine, which can only cause worse fuel consumption, can also damage the engine by a rich air-fuel mixture! Dyno tests on a 1998 S-10 V6showed a loss of 7 hp and an average loss of 3mpg. Vortex Generator (Bad) Here's a product that I actually had little success. The "Turbonator" and similar knock-off products basically a rotary motion in the intake pipe, which can in many cases, air travel faster to the intake manifold. They are easy to install and work to a certain extent, but in my testing, I noticed a maximum increase of 3PS and no difference in terms of gas mileage, on average, well below the expected results. Why is it so fast and easy to install, I tried this on 5 different vehicles with similar results to each other. Performance Chips (Good) There are performance chips are several that can not only add power to your vehicle, but also to improve fuel consumption. These best work with high-performance engines petrol and diesel. IYou can not criticize the performance of chips, unless they are cheap, and usually is the installation and set up a shop bench of professional service that does not need to say that cheap. That said, they work. Increasing power is the most obvious of these, but they increase on average 3-5mpg. Magnetic Fuel Conditioners (Fail) These inexpensive devices can be had for about $ 10 to do, andabsolutely nothing for gas mileage. It would be better put to it, that $ 10 in the tank. This is a tiny gadget that is basically your line of connection of the fuel, and you should get better fuel efficiency magically. The idea is that neodymium magnet is completely rearrange the molecules of fuel, and "Super Charge" "ionize" or her. Scientifically speaking, this makes no sense! Feel free to try if you're curious, but these get a thumbs down from Bruce! Air mass sensor modules (fail) There is actually a common name for this, but are usually a very small box, with a few strands of different points of the network for $ 5 - $ 15. The basic idea is that you do in your Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor or intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector, and is your on-board computer to think that the air entering the engine is colder than it is really stupid. This is done using nothing more than a resistance,You can buy at Radio Shack for about less than a dollar, and that's it! It works in the sense that it fools the computer, but does not improve gas mileage or performance of widespread testing. Do not fall for this, as my friend! Cells Hydrogen / Water cells (Excellent) Excellent why? Most people report the results of the 20-45% price increases in terms of fuel efficiency. This work splitting water into "HHO Gas" which is basicallyHydrogen and oxygen separated. The only drawback is that it is not really productive units. Most HHO enthusiasts built their personal settings. Luckily it's not terribly complicated, and can be done at a reasonable cost. There are some great designs available that show you exactly how to set this for your car. I have personally tested this configuration and can almost double my fuel economy and tripled my city MPG highway!

Twin-Laden - concept and application example

!±8± Twin-Laden - concept and application example

The first time I heard of charging double (both with a turbocharger and a compressor on the same engine) was probably in 2000. At that time I was very interested in the performance of the Toyota Celica and, of course, I also read a lot about his sister's car (shared with some of the engines themselves), like the Camry and MR2.

One of the most interesting parts aftermarket, which at the time I spent was driven by the HKS turbo kit for the first generation 4AGZE Mr2. The 4agze(For those not familiar with Toyota engines), a peppy 170 horsepower 1.6-liter is Toyota SC-12 roots-type compressor driven. On this car, Toyota uses a compressor electromagnetically tight, that could be disabled during the low power requirements such as cruise, and is active when the user requests it.

One of the most important parts of the kit is the HKS bypass valve. This valve was used to draw air from the compressor directly to the engine at low speeds / flow points. As soon as the speed increases, and the engine begins to demand more air, and the turbocharger is fully wound, turn the valve slowly until the turbo feeds the engine alone, while the compressor is completely bypassed. The twin-turbo MR2 have been rumors about the 300 HP mark, in some cases to break, depending on the level and support the final push for changes, and the level of performance for a 1.6 liter engine with time has amazingly quiet.

The theory behind this type ofSystem is a small positive displacement (roots style) use of the compressor. Performance of the compressor efficiency is usually highest at low speeds and compressor (for example, from idle to 4000 rpm). Above 4000 rpm, performance and efficiency of the compressor begins to fall, the power required to drive begins to rise exponentially, and the temperature begins to rise dramatically from the compressor to limit the performance.

On the other hand, with agenerously sized turbocharger will allow us to efficiently power the engine with cooler air (revised from a compressor) and maintain high-speed performance. The problem with using a turbocharger that a larger-sized turbochargers spool usually no earlier than 3000-4000 rpm power band is our limited and therefore does not increase performance at low speed.

The idea is to use a dual boot, is a compressor and turbo charger to have anywhat they do best are the compressor motor to increase torque at low revs, and when its vapor, the turbocharger comes to us in line to contribute to the red line.

There are three aspects of these types of systems that make them inaccessible for most tuner:

1 Costs and Complexity: With a turbo compressor and a complete system fully on the same vehicle and spend a lot of money to deal with a lot of parts and diagnose, if not go a little 'wrong.

2 The bypass valve used to control the compressor (and still maintain all air pressure from the turbocharger) and in a position, this valve is electrically or mechanically requires a bypass valve that only custom all available in stock. Although as I write this, it seems possible, a large-scale two-chamber bypass valve plumbed to the pressure difference between the output of the turbo compressor and the outlet to find running as soon as the conversionBoost pressure = pressure + charging voltage of the bypass valve opening mechanism.

3 Since we are using two different types of charger efficiency with two different boards, can be very complicated to figure out how to tune the engine (especially with a lot more simple injection systems that were used at the time) because the density of the air can vary greatly at the same speed and pressure-point level, depending on the charger to the air intake of the engine and in whatShare. This applies even if the HKS turbo kit for 4agze was weaker, that is, to facilitate the transition point between the supply switching turbo charger.

One of the things that has changed in the last 10 years is the availability (and dissemination of knowledge) available on alternative fuels or octane booster. Two options, which are:

1 - E85, which is composed of 85% ethanol, which has an octane rating of about 100-105 octane vs. typical87-93 octane pump gas.

2 - water / methanol injection systems as well as an additional supply system (based on the content of methanol, which carries an octane rating of 110 octane) may be used or to be used for the in-cylinder cooling when the water vapor injected with methanol converted into steam inside the combustion chamber, in order to extract more heat from the combustion chamber, thus slowing the speed of the flame before simulationeffects similar to those of a higher octane rating.

With the availability of these increases octane or octane concoctions simulation, has become more accessible to fans last performance to create a different kind of double-loading system, which does not build a bypass valve.

Driven in this type of system, the Charge is to feed the turbocharger inlet, or vice versa. Instead, both the turbocharger compressor or engine powerindividually (in parallel) and switching between the two, now we are using a two-stage compression phase in which a compressor factory, and the second stage is an aftermarket turbocharger system.

The result of the two compressors is a pressure cap. For example, when the turbocharger wastegate opening spring is an attitude of 7 psi above atmospheric pressure (which is a given pressure of 1.5 to 1 atmosphere of about 14.7 psig) together, and ifThe compressor is mechanically aligned to 50% more than the engine (for positive displacement compressors roots style) flow at any speed, so that an environment identical to 7 psi boost, or a print-ratio of 1.5, then combined ratio resulting pressure of the system is as follows:

PR PR PR * Total = turbo compressor, a pressure ratio of 2.25 =

A pressure ratio of 2.25 corresponds to 18.4 psi increase (not counting the 14 psi with the addition of two stages combined).

In any case, how it worksare based on octane requirements?

When the turbocharger, the power of the compressor, for example, the turbocharger and the intake of fresh air at room temperature (T1), then:

1 - The air leaving the turbocharger will be at a temperature T2, higher than the temperature (T1) of about 60-80 * C depending on the exact turbocharger, and where we are on the compressor map and turbocharger efficiency.

2 - The air enters the compressor at a temperature T2~ T3 T1 = 60 and quit at a temperature which is greater than T2 for more than around 60-80 * C, depending on the exact specifications of the compressor.

3 - If we had an intercooler after the compressor, then the air in the intercooler is 120 to 160 * C above ambient temperature, which is a lot of heat for the air cooling of the attempt to be cast in the short time that the air the intercooler core.

4 - When there are post-intercooler (thecommon on cars, where the compressor is packed into the intake manifold of the car), then the air in the engine will be some 120-160 * C above ambient temperature.

5 - The excessive heating of the air not only reduces the performance (about 1 hp for every 13 * C), but also increases the likelihood of air-fuel mixture is ignited in the engine automatically maturity before the spark plug has fired and if This premature ignition occurs early enough to take the pistonsignificantly away from top dead center, then fight the flame front push the plunger down, and the inertia of the system (the rotation of the cylinders and the power of fire of the other pistons on the crankshaft), pushing the plunger up to the door extremely high pressures and temperatures increase in damage on the surface of the piston to the end and possibly damage to other parts of the engine as well.

For these reasons (compounding pressure, increased temperature and combined) sequenceLaden is little used in the past. Using a higher octane rating means by definition that the air-fuel mixture is less susceptible to self-ignition and explosion. Moreover, in case of premature ignition, the higher octane creates more slowly traveling flame front, which gives the piston more time to go to the top of the cylinder bore (closer to TDC) before the meeting of the flame front, and this reduces the time that the surface of the piston is wrongPressure hot and reduces the possibility of a fatal error. Last but not least, concerns the use of a water / methanol injection mixing of two phase-change events:

1 - Methanol injected from liquid to gaseous state at its boiling point of 65 * C, ie, as soon as the mixture of compressed air blows out of the compressor. This phase change is taking up most of the heat from the air and methanol reduces the temperature of the firstMixture enters the combustion chamber and begins to compress. This temperature reduction is a long way to eliminate or greatly reduce the chance of detonation.

2 - The injected water from liquid to gaseous state at its boiling point of 100 * C, which depends on the availability of an intercooler in the system, my experience in the intake pipe before it reaches the combustion chamber, or will not be made until the mixture is ignited. In both cases, if theThe temperature is high enough, the mist of water injected into the flash airflow to evaporate into steam and consumes a large amount of heat produced during combustion.

The availability of these octane boosters now makes it possible to provide aftermarket parts manufacturer for the performance of a kit of safe, reliable load sequentially to the mass market.

This kit that I came across an article in Hot Rod Magazine Power was developed by hellion(Http: / / www.hellionpowersystems.com) mustang supercharged engine for the production of GT-500.

The kit said to produce up to 1000 horsepower at a boost pressure of 24 psi Turbonetics turbo with two 61 mm.

To achieve this, about 1000 HP 1500 cfm of airflow at 24psi or 1500cfm requires, at a pressure ratio of 2.63, or 750cfm@2.63pr to the turbocharger.

Since most tickets for this turbocharger compressor size (61 mm) peak at around 600cfm@2.63 pr @ 50% efficiency, which is aoutermost point on the map (for example, the turbo is maxed out at that point). I must say that I'm confident that the kit can support a pair of 61 mm turbo 800hp'm typical, but even if he proves 1000PS has happened, not what most agree released 61mm turbocharger. I'm not questioning the kits, I'm saying that I do not use a better reference for the specific turbocharger in the kit.

In addition, the power injector requires eight 8 1000PS 750cc/minInjectors in my opinion, and this agrees with what is necessary to Hot Rod Magazine Article 75lbs/hour injectors (for lb / h is roughly equivalent to 10.5cc/min) to a minimum or total fuel demand, supply above 900 liters of fuel per hour with fuel manifold pressure, usually around 45psi.

Given the extent of the fuel pump 255lph @ 30psi GS342 with a kit is provided, then with three gas stations gives us the ability to 765lph which is about2125 HP worth of fuel, so in that respect, the kit is able to support the figure of power.

As you can see, it is possible that such a complex project, if the information (turbocharger compressor map, temperature map turbocharger, compressor, compressor map, the map of the temperature of the compressor, etc. ...) first-hand information was available. What remains a mystery and art of trial and failure is how your engine is over-engineered to produce as much torque and furtherto survive and how long you can continue to survive at high levels. This is a question to be answered more interesting overall.

This econometric study covers the world outlook for superchargers and turbochargers for internal combustion engines excluding aircraft and gasoline automotive engines and gas turbines across more than 200 countries. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-a-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

This study does not report actual sales data (which are simply unavailable, in a comparable or consistent manner in virtually all of the 230 countries of the world). This study gives, however, my estimates for the worldwide latent demand, or the P.I.E., for superchargers and turbochargers for internal combustion engines excluding aircraft and gasoline automotive engines and gas turbines. It also shows how the P.I.E. is divided across the world's regional and national markets. For each country, I also show my estimates of how the P.I.E. grows over time (positive or negative growth). In order to make these estimates, a multi-stage methodology was employed that is often taught in courses on international strategic planning at graduate schools of business.
